Our story

A decade of firsts.

Since 2016, we've been pushing the boundaries of renewable energy technology — from pioneering Australia's first renewable self-forecasting systems to developing integrated solutions that transform how renewable assets are monitored, managed and optimised.

2016

Proa is founded.

Proa begins its journey with a focus on improving solar asset performance through advanced generation forecasting.

2018

Forecasting platform launches.

Proa launches its renewable energy forecasting system, laying the foundations for advanced generation forecasting in Australia.

2019

Australia’s first approved self-forecaster.

Proa secures ARENA funding and becomes Australia’s first approved renewable energy self-forecaster.

2020

Hybrid optimisation development begins.

Proa begins developing its hybrid optimisation system for the Department of Defence, integrating solar and battery storage to enable scheduled generation in the Northern Territory.

2022

Pioneering automated sensor cleaning.

Proa delivers its first solar weather station equipped with a fully automated sensor cleaning system.

2023

MetCube development begins.

Proa secures an Accelerating Commercialisation grant to develop MetCube, its next-generation autonomous weather station.

2024

MetCube launches.

Proa launches MetCube, bringing autonomous, self-cleaning weather monitoring to renewable energy projects.

2024

Award-winning hybrid optimisation.

Proa delivers a pioneering solar and battery optimisation system for the Department of Defence in the Northern Territory, enabling scheduled generation and winning a pv magazine Global Award.

2025

50 MetCubes delivered. NEXO takes shape.

Proa delivers its first 50 MetCubes and begins developing NEXO, bringing its technologies together into an integrated renewable energy operating system.

2026

NEXO launches.

Proa launches NEXO, an integrated operating system connecting and optimising renewable energy portfolios.

2026

ARENA backs HiveOps innovation.

Proa secures ARENA funding to develop HiveOps, combining distributed sensing, advanced analytics and intelligent maintenance to improve solar performance and reduce operating costs.
