MetHub

Get one trusted set of weather data for every site.

MetHub brings the measurements and health data from your MetSeries weather stations into one secure platform. It checks data quality automatically and logs every action, giving every stakeholder a reference dataset they can agree on.

The challenge

Collecting weather data is only half the challenge.

Weather data is often scattered across multiple systems, making it difficult to monitor measurement quality across sites and campaigns. Sensor and data quality issues can go undetected, while validation is often left until the end, when problems are harder to resolve. From greenfield resource assessment to operational performance monitoring, reliable decisions depend on continuous data quality assurance and a single, trusted dataset.

A trusted source of truth for meteorological data.

One platform for every site

Access weather station data for a whole project or portfolio in one place.

Catch issues early

Identify system health issues in time to fix them before they affect your measurement campaign.

Stay on track

Continuous monitoring of measurement trends and data quality avoids end-of-campaign surprises.

One agreed dataset

A single, auditable, quality-controlled dataset for resource assessments, performance analysis and reporting, with full traceability of data sources, validation and processing.

Everything you need to trust your weather data.

Key features

Single secure platform+
Access MetSeries measurements and health data for a whole project or portfolio, gathered via API every 15 seconds directly from the stations.
Weather station health+
See the current and historical health status of each weather station.
Trends and downloads+
Visualise and download key measurements over years, months and days, down to 15-second intervals.
Automated health monitoring+
Continuous monitoring gives early warning of maintenance needs or health issues.
Flexible alerts+
Control who receives notifications and when, including third-party asset managers and O&M teams.
Traceable quality checks+
Automatic and manual data quality checks, with details of each check and action logged for auditing.
Reference dataset workflow+
Stakeholders review data quality flags on the platform and agree on a reference, quality-controlled dataset, with a report on its sources, cleaning and aggregation.
Satellite backfilling+
Flagged irradiance data that is removed is backfilled with satellite-derived irradiance, calculated using Proa’s proprietary algorithms.

FAQs

How is MetHub deployed and accessed?+

MetHub is accessed through NEXO and needs MetSeries weather stations on site to send the data.

Which asset types does it support?+

MetHub is most relevant to solar sites.

Can MetHub be used without other NEXO modules?+

Yes, MetHub is a stand-alone NEXO module.

Is MetHub compatible with data from non-MetSeries weather stations?+

No, MetHub only integrates with MetSeries weather stations.

What sort of data quality issues does MetHub identify?+

MetHub has standard quality checks for data that is:

  • Missing
  • Out of range
  • Stuck for consecutive samples
  • Suddenly changing

MetHub also uses advanced analytics to check for irradiance measurements affected by:

  • Soiling
  • Dew or frost
  • Shading
What happens if bad data has been identified?+

When data fails a quality check, it is automatically flagged and linked to the specific rule that identified the issue. Authorised collaborators can then review, validate and approve the flags through a transparent workflow to create a trusted, quality-controlled dataset.

Do I receive alerts when bad quality data is identified?+

Yes. MetHub can notify nominated users by SMS or email when data quality issues are detected, helping teams identify and investigate potential problems as early as possible. Alerts can be configured to control who receives notifications and under what conditions, ensuring the right stakeholders are informed at the right time.

How can I tell what data was excluded from the clean dataset?+

All data quality flags are fully traceable within MetHub. Users can review what data was excluded, why it was flagged, and any review or approval decisions associated with it. The resulting quality-controlled dataset is accompanied by standardised reports detailing data sources, quality-control checks, data cleaning activities, and any processing or aggregation applied, providing complete transparency for stakeholders.

What formats can I download the data into?+

Export data in CSV or Excel (XLSX) format for use in tools such as Excel, PVsyst and other analytics platforms.
