Wind Forecasting

Real-time generation forecasts for utility-scale wind plants and entire networks over the next hour, day, and week.
Proa's advanced algorithms produce optimal forecasts by combining live SCADA data with numerical weather prediction models to create a detailed digital twin of the wind system. This model estimates power output using optimized weights that dynamically respond to prevailing weather conditions and data availability, ensuring the most accurate data is applied at each timescale. At Proa, we generate forecasts across three time horizons—Intra-Hour, Intra-Day, and Intra-Week—tailored to your asset and market needs.
By leveraging multiple numerical weather prediction (NWP) models, we can capture and predict atmospheric conditions and wind fields at various heights, including turbine hub height, as accurately as possible.

Key Forecast Inputs
Live SCADA Data
Real-time site data is used to model the live site availability and to estimate both persistence and predictive forecasts of future availability.
NWP
The outputs from various NWP models are used to forecast the resource availability for a site, for longer horizons.
